Welcome to the Great Blackberry Pick!

During World War 1, children helped the war effort by picking blackberries – tonnes and tonnes of them.
And they didn’t just pick blackberries. They picked all kinds of fruit and vegetables, collected eggs and conkers, and helped in many other ways.
Our project is all about what children were doing in the Droitwich area between 1914 and 1918.
The project starts in September 2015 and is based in Droitwich Library. We are delighted to be working with four local first schools –  Tibberton, Hindlip, Ombersley and Wychbold.
