Don’t waste your fruit harvest! Have a go at this simple jam recipe!
2 kg Blackberries
1 kg crab apples
300 ml water
3 kg granulated sugar
Simmer blackberries in a large pan with half the water until they are soft. Do the same with the apples in a separate pan, using the other half of the water. Mix the 2 fruits together in one pan and allow to cool slightly before stirring in the sugar. When it has dissolved, bring to the boil and boil vigorously until the setting point is reached. Pour into warmed, sterilized jars and cover with wax discs.
