Researching children's contribution to the First World War in Droitwich
Tibberton C.E. Primary School
Tibberton C.E. Primary School was established in the 19th century. Former pupils from our school will have gone to fight during World War One whilst others stayed home in the village.
During the project, the children at school today will be excited to discover that during WW1, the children from our Village spent their school hours picking blackberries to support the war effort.
As a class we will be visiting Smite Farm to pick blackberries and we are planning to make fruit jam or even crumbles to feed our own families.
As part of the project the children will have the opportunity to explore what life was like for a child during WW1. We will make flag pins and badges, collect books and sew bookmarks to sell at our harvest assembly, raising money for charity just like the children did 100 years ago.
